The visual and functional continuity is achieved by the spatial relationship between different areas by using natural lighting and specially designed components. The project main idea is to emphasize the contrast between the two volumes that must be seen as a counterweight one to the other. The gravity is reversed and the volume of ground is more fragile and transparent than the stone coating upper volume heaviest. Town planning
The intervention area has an added value for being part of the old quarter of the population and especially for the antiquity of the place (usually known as Plaça Vella) and its proximity to the Castle of the \\\\\\\"Comptes de Prades\\\\\\\". The application of materials and constructive solutions are defined in the project based on the experience of previous interventions in the municipality and with similar characteristics.

El ámbito de actuación tiene un valor añadido por formar parte del núcleo antiguo de la población y especialmente por la antigüedad de la plaza (habitualmente conocida como plaza Vella) y por su proximidad al Castillo de los “Comptes de Prades” fortaleza hegemónica que fue de la zona.
La elección y modo de aplicación de los materiales y soluciones constructivas definidas en proyecto se hacen en base a la experiencia de anteriores intervenciones en vialidad del propio municipio y de características similares propuestas en su día por un Plan Director de Intervención redactado por el equipo técnico municipal dirigido por Juan Manuel Zaguirre. El deficiente estado de conservación, las obsoletas soluciones constructivas existentes, la escasa idoneidad de los materiales existentes y la necesidad de modernizar las redes de servicios del sector histórico medieval hicieron necesaria y urgente una actuación de reforma integral de la vialidad y servicios urbanísticos de todo el núcleo antiguo de la población de Falset. Especialmente urgente fue la actuación en esta plaza dada la precariedad de la pavimentación y de las redes de servicios. Hay que considerar que esta zona es la de mayor antigüedad del núcleo antiguo, muy próxima al recién rehabilitado Castillo de Falset y sus murallas y baluartes.
La idea de proyecto pretende y consigue dar valor formal y recuperar el protagonismo de un grupo de tres piedras históricas encastadas en el pavimento de la plaza desde época medieval. Estas piedras forman un orificio que históricamente sirvió como base para el encastado de postes de madera a modo de ejes para sistemas de molinos de cereales (eras) y también como pedestales en ejecuciones durante la época medieval y otras posteriores. En este sentido, y dada la importancia de esta plaza en el momento fundacional de Falset, se pretende reivindicar de nuevo su papel de centralidad histórica y cultural al extender este pavimento característico a la zona más próxima a la plaza, mediante unas trazas concéntricas de la pavimentación en configuración a modo de ondas discontinuas que se extienden por parte del pavimento del núcleo antiguo y que tienen como epicentro estas piedras históricas que se han conservado en el tiempo y en la memoria de la Villa. |
